About Blockyard
Blockyard is the newsroom for a property economy that is usually reported in pieces. This page explains who runs it, what sits underneath it, and why these particular businesses belong together.
The through-line
Most people meet the property economy at a single point. They rent. Or they buy. Or they inherit a problem and end up in a county courthouse trying to solve it. Each of those moments is served by a different industry, with different incentives, and almost none of them talk to each other.
The businesses covered here follow one person through that whole arc instead of one transaction at a time: renting, financing, investing, and resolving what goes wrong. Same operator, same standard of accountability, four different moments in a life.
That is the idea. Everything below is the execution.
The operator
Hans Michel is a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator — NMLS #2857209 — sponsored by Loan Factory, Inc., NMLS #2377459, and licensed in Georgia. The parent entity is RentAssure Inc., based in Atlanta.
That license matters more than it might appear. A licensed originator is personally accountable for every file, every disclosure, and every claim made in advertising — which is why mortgage content on this site never quotes a rate, a payment, or an APR without the disclosures the law requires, and why the compliance language at the foot of those articles is fixed rather than rewritten each time.
It is also the reason the rest of the stack is built the way it is. When one person carries the license, the software has to be honest by construction, because there is no committee to hide behind.
The applications
loantrust.ai — the financing desk
An Atlanta mortgage brokerage where one licensed MLO personally packages every loan, rather than routing it through a call center. It serves both sides of the market that are usually split apart: conventional, FHA, VA and refinance for homeowners, alongside DSCR, fix & flip, bridge, new construction, multifamily and bank-statement programs for investors — all brokered through Loan Factory.
It also runs as a three-sided marketplace: wholesalers list a deal, the underwriting file is packaged, lenders pre-approve, and investors close against a file that has already been read.
renttrust.ai — the rental layer
A verified rental marketplace covering the full lifecycle under one operator: verification, payment, and trust scoring. One design decision defines it — it reveals a trust score, never the underlying credit report. A landlord gets the signal they actually need to make a decision. The renter's file stays theirs.
That single constraint is what separates a screening product from a surveillance product, and it is deliberate.
filemycase.ai — the resolution layer
Guided DIY court filing across all 159 Georgia counties — eviction, small claims, record restriction, name change and more. It is self-service software, not legal advice, and not a law firm. It prepares court-ready documents on the same official Georgia forms the courts already use; the customer signs, files, and appears.
It exists because the gap between "I have a valid claim" and "I know how to file it" is where most people simply give up.
Pegasus Capital Group — the investment side
Real-estate investment financing: fix-and-flip lending underwritten against after-repair value, and new construction on a construction-to-permanent basis.
Pegasus Academy — real-estate investor education — is coming soon. It is the teaching arm of the same thesis: the investors who do best are the ones who understand the financing before they need it, not during.
humanbygod.com — the culture side
Faith-based streetwear and a culture desk covering music, film, sport, fashion and the moments in between. It is the one brand here that is not about property, and it is not a detour. The same audience that rents an apartment and finances a first home also has a life, a faith, and a set of things they care about. Meeting them there is not a marketing tactic; it is an acknowledgement that people are not only their transactions.
What Blockyard is
Blockyard is the news desk that sits across all of it — real estate, mortgages, rentals, courts and culture — publishing daily coverage from primary sources with the original outlet credited and linked on every article.
It exists because operating in these markets requires reading them every day, and that reading is worth publishing. Each article is written against the source, checked against a compliance gate before it goes out, and carries a fixed disclosure block rather than one improvised per post.
Coverage is organized by brand: loantrust.ai for mortgage and housing finance, renttrust.ai for the rental economy, humanbygod.com for culture, and filemycase.ai for the courts.
How it ties together
The honest version is that none of these were designed as a portfolio. Each one came from hitting a wall in the previous one.
Managing rentals showed how bad tenant screening is for both sides — so renttrust.ai. Financing those properties showed how much of a mortgage file is re-keyed by hand — so loantrust.ai. Watching landlords and tenants alike lose winnable cases over paperwork showed the gap the courts do not fill — so filemycase.ai. Investors kept asking how the financing actually worked — so Pegasus, and the Academy behind it.
What connects them is not a category. It is a posture: show people the real number, keep their data theirs, and put a licensed name behind the advice.
Blockyard is where that gets written down every day.
