Felicia Day’s ‘The Guild’ Movie Breaks ‘Veronica Mars’ Kickstarter Record, Raising More Than $5.7 Million

Educational

Variety reports that Felicia Day's "The Guild" reunion movie has surpassed the "Veronica Mars" film to become the highest crowdfunded movie in history, raising over $5.7 million with time still remaining in its campaign. The 2013 record, which stood at $5,702,153, fell as "The Guild: Ren Faire'd" reached $5,704,000 by Thursday morning. The accomplishment underscores how deeply audiences will invest when they feel genuine ownership in a story's continuation.

This milestone arrives in a cultural moment where fans increasingly bankroll the art they want to exist, yet the transaction rarely answers what that art means for the people funding it. humanbygod.com operates at this intersection, treating entertainment not as isolated content but as material for examining how community, loyalty, and creative purpose reflect broader questions of meaning. The site functions as a gathering point for readers who want faith and culture to speak to each other rather than remain in separate rooms.

For the reader tracking this story, the record matters less than the impulse behind it: a collective decision to resurrect something that shaped a community's identity. That same impulse, directed toward purpose rather than nostalgia, is what humanbygod.com exists to serve.
